Integrity: the quality of being honest and having a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values. In ethics, integrity is regarded as the honesty and truthfulness or earnestness of one's actions. In ethics, a person is said to possess the virtue of integrity if the person's actions are based upon an internally consistent framework of principles. A person has ethical integrity to the extent that the person's actions, beliefs, methods, measures, and principles align with a well-integrated core group of values. A person must, therefore, be flexible and willing to adjust these values to maintain consistency when these values are challenged, such as when observed results are incongruous with expected outcomes. Because such flexibility is a form of accountability, it is regarded as a moral responsibility as well as a virtue. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrity) How do you want to be remembered? This is one of the main questions to ask yourself when determining what your core values are and why they are important to you. Early on in my life, I had an idea of who I was, but I had to decide who I wanted to become. I had many great examples in my life of people I respected. All of them had one key factor in common. They all had Good Integrity. I want to be remembered for my Integrity. I want people to know that I am/was always honest (even when no one was watching, or when I was standing alone). I want people to know that they can trust the work I have completed was done right. No shortcuts were taken, and my heart, my whole heart, was put into it. I want others to be able to find the courage in themselves to stand up for what is right, in a respectful way, with the light of Christ as their guide. I want people to have the courage to take responsibility for their actions, both good and bad. I want people to cherish their own integrity and lead a life that will help them to easily keep their integrity intact, even when it is difficult, because they watched me do the same thing with Grace. ~Elisa~
