Trust

As I think of going into business for myself, I think my greatest challenge will be to trust my ability and not doubt it. I have watched many entrepreneurial friends who have put their all into their businesses because they had to keep succeeding and were afraid of failing after such success. David Carrington talked about how he got Cancer and referred to it as a great advantage. He said that one of the things cancer does is force you to reassess your life. Because of that event, he was able to take a step back, look at the balance, and decide what was out of balance. He discovered that his businesses were running his life, instead of his life running his businesses. He talks about how we get so ingrained in what we’re doing that we don’t take a breath to see why we’re doing it. For me, this is a good reminder to have balance in all areas of life. I believe this is where my family could help. They could make sure I am not spending all my time focused on my business. I take time with each one of them, and together as a family to grow those relationships, but also to help me in business areas where they can, so that we can grow together. I think it is so important that while you are raising a family, you find a way to put them first. No success at work is worth failure at home. hildren need a mother and father both actively engaged in their lives and present to make a difference. It is just too hard for one parent to do it all when the other is working. So finding a way to be flexible, and being able to set your own meetings and work times with clients, Success in both business and family can be accomplished. ~Elisa~
